A trip to Amsterdam.
Kategori: Vardag
For a while I have been walking around in my (very precious!) Lundabubbla where I live, work, study, sleep and eat pretty much. I get restless and on a night when I was a bit hormonal and restless and my plans got cancelled, I broke down. At this point I realised that I need to take care of myself and listen to my body and mind. I decided to take that spring trip that I had been dreaming about and it didn't cost me more than a couple of bus tickets, the price for one night on a lovely airbnb and 4 study days. The rest of the nights I was hosted by friends. ♥

The sun totally blinded me on the boat to Germany.
Wait! This is not the first thing that happened. First my bus got cancelled and I had to turn at the station. I was stressed cause I was sure I would miss my bus from Hamburg to Amsterdam. I went home and after some support from Gökhan I could have the strength to book new tickets and I didn't have to leave until morning. Also I booked them wrong and had to do it again in the morning, and then I was stressed because everything was delayed, haha. Anyway... I made it to Hamburg. Met a very nice egypt guy who helped me find my way. I was late, but caught the bus. So after this I met up with Freddy in Amsterdam and he showed me to our airbnb!

Marion, our host, was such a lovely woman and the house was filled with flowers. The floors were heated and finally I didn't feel cold for a whole night. We had a nice dinner at a place in our neighboorhood and enjoyed a calm evening.

In the morning we went on a walk to find breakfast! We decided to go to a hip place called "Coffee and coconuts".

Almond latte.

Freddy!

As a vegan I sometimes need to be this hip-healthy-rawfood-acai-chia-avocado-person to find food. And honestly, I did want pancakes, but this was nice too!

Växtgäri vart jag än går. Flowergirl wherever I go.

Full and happy we went strolling down the street and found this park! There was even flowers! (Vårkänslor, om något va?)

One block away from the park was this market.

I so am a healthy-hip-mango-person if you'd like to know. Okay. I am a mango-person. No need to lie. I also had a wonderful dutch waffle and someone polished my shoes! Here comes some Amsterdam, check it out.

So shiny.

We found the flower market, souvenir shops and this cute art shop.

Me at Bloemenmarkt
.

Off to Starbucks to get a strawberry cream frappe. See how easily I changed the kind of hipster I am?
(Skojar förstås. Miljömupp forever.)

The American Bookstore.

Always, always, always.

Sat down on a bench to rest my feet and my back. Asked myself a hundred times why I didn't lock it up first. Oh well.

This church was hidden in a beautiful and calm inner courtyard.

I can't believe people live here.

Went into a LOT of shops. Notice the pikachu.

Next upp was city center.

We stopped at De Koffieschenkerij for a cup of tea in the sun! This is every Swede's wet dream. No exeptions. I actually stayed here for a while to finnish a lab report before we kept sightseeing. The place was so cosy and almost empty.

More typical Amsterdam.

Finally we stopped at the station to leave our backpacks!

From there we walked down Haarlemmerstraat and Haarlemmerdijk which was a great place to shop for anything you might want. I didn't buy anything except for a bag of finnish candy in the finnish store (!). Such a nice place!

After getting tired and hungry enough we stopped for burgers and beers at a nice pub. The charming bartender made the place awesome. Nothing vegan on the menu tho, but they made me delicious food anyway ♥

When we came out it was night. Dark, rainy, beautiful.

This picture is my favourite from the trip.

This picture is from Eidhoven, where Freddy lives. Some candy, phone charging and sleeping was needed at this point. Huge thanks to Freddy for hosting me. It was such a lovely trip.
